My partner got me an entry level racing wheel for my birthday. I’m having a lot of fun with it! I’ve been playing some BeamNG.drive and doing some emulated PS3 games. I decided to try it in cyberpunk too and it just works! I tried it with Redout, too, great time but my goodness that game is hard. It’s possible I’m stupid, but I couldn’t get it working with Assetto Corsa so that game is still sitting in my library unplayed. I’m gonna try to get it set up with XEMU, and maybe eventually I’ll get around to writing a proper driver for it so that “Wheel” mode isn’t totally useless on Linux.
I also got a new CPU cooler. It’s getting hard to find air coolers in B&M stores, which sucks because I’m NOT watercooling my server, nuh uh no thank you, critical infrastructure will continue to be free of potentially conductive liquids thank you.
If I can be honest, I’m kind of blank right now. Things are going well… I think?
I was referred to a job by the person I’d be working under, so that’ll be really great for while I’m in school and trying to launch the dev career. Therapy has been helping. Physical therapy has been helping. I need a dentist still. And I need to get my eyes checked… good thing I’m friends with an opto.
I miss my family. I haven’t seen them since my partner and I got together. It’s not their fault, that happens when you live almost 2kMi away from someone, gets hard to meet in person. We do movie nights every week using syncplay which is nice, but it’s not the same. I need a mom-hug.
Lili is doing better about not pooping inside… finally oh my god. Unfortunately this happened right as nebula Learned that litter boxes are a human idea and she doesn’t technically need to abide. Cats are disgusting. Dogs are disgusting.
I’m sitting on the patio while I write this… it’s windy, cloudy. There’s not a star I can see anywhere. It must really be monsoon season. It’s felt like it was gonna come early all year, and now that it’s almost time it really feels like it’s gonna pour. The weather is weird nowadays. I guess the weather here will always be weird to me, but I mean like everywhere. It’s hot. It’s cold. The wind blows… weird somehow, like the angle it’s coming from is off by a fraction of a degree. Butterflies and Hurricanes and all that.
Anyway, thanks for reading my ramblings. I just needed to write, it’s been a couple days.
