I Used to Keep a Gemini Capsule – Episode 1

I stopped keeping up with it when I realized it was just an open hole in my network for bots to slide in through. Not a big hole, but like, ya’know I’m not the only one on this network I can’t just be punching holes in my security just so I can support computers from the 90’s on my blog. I’m probably gonna be the only one to ever even look at my gemcap, so I let it die. It’s been offline for a few months now. I’m going to reupload some of my gemlogs as posts here over the next few days.

I will be posting the gmi files as plaintext, with no changes. Don’t click the links, they don’t work anymore, and even if they did you’d need a special browser to use them.

Today I learned how to make a Gemini Site. I also learned how to configure DNS for the Gemini Protocol. DNS terrifies me, so this wasn't something I was wanting to do. It really wasnt that hard though.

I will very likely end up hosting my development blog as a mirror on this protocol for lightweight devices.
