For the car, not the server. The Malibu hasn’t had a proper oil change in… too long. Last week the check engine light came on and I read the code and my obd2 said “Fix this shit RN girl this car is gonna die otherwise”.
My grandpa told me when I was around 16 or 17 “If you ever see the oil pressure light come on for even a second while you’re driving, pull over and turn off the car because you’ve got a primed bomb under the hood.” So tell me then Chevrolet, why when the oil level gets so low that the “Oil Pressure Solenoid” is “Permanently Open” and this can cause “Catostrophic Damage” if not “Immediately Repaired” did you not FLASH THE FUCKING ENGINE LIGHT LIKE A NORMAL GODDAMNED CAR?!?

Ok. So most manufacturers understand that urgent lights need to flash. Chevy apparently doesn’t. This explains why I’ve seen so many dead Chevys. Whatever, just another problem with fucking american cars. I will never understand why she bought American. I drive a 52 year old british roadster as my ‘daily’. I don’t actually drive often, maybe two or three times a month? I prefer to cycle, and that’s gotten me used to feeling the road. I need a classic, all this obfuscation of road feedback through drive by wire and hydraulic steering makes it too hard to feel what’s actually happening on the road. It’s a dangerous car, but it’s ok on gas… surprisingly. The MGB, tuned as-is with a single weber, is as good on gas when I drive it as the Malibu is when my partner drives it. I guess that’s more indicitive of her driving than the MG’s tuning though… I drive that Mali at 40+Mpg, i’ll never understand how she manages 20. Lead feet and all.
The MG actually taught me to be more fuel efficient. Hearing the air as it screams through the carb really makes one understand how much fuel they’re burning.
I went for a walk in the mountains yesterday. New trail I hadn’t seen before. The crest trail was closed, some kind of logging project? Based on the crew who was there I’m guessing it was some wildfire management stuff. I saw some beautiful little purple flowers on my walk, all over the place. I didn’t have a way to get a photo but I managed to identify the flowers and found one online.I’m pretty sure they were the “Whipple’s Penstemon”. Super cute flowers.

Anyways. That’s all I’ve got for now.
Love y’all,
Nora
